Roy Glenn Dismuke
September 16, 1942 ~ May 15, 2017

Roy Glenn Dismuke, 74, passed away on May 15, 2017 in Duncan, OK. He was born in Comanche on September 16, 1942.

Family visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17, from 5:00 to 6:30 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.

A memorial service is planned for Thursday, May 18, at 2:00 P.M. at Eastside Church of Christ with Rev. Ron Stough and Rev. Robert Teague officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Roy attended 1st through 9th grades at Velma and graduated from Duncan High School in 1960. He married Phyllis Branch on September 10, 1960. They raised three children, Rick, Brenda, and Cindy. In 1992, he began Dismuke Plumbing, which he operated with his wife until his sudden passing. Roy worked as a plumber for over 59 years in the Duncan area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting Indian artifacts and making knives. He loved being with his coffee shop buddies at Jimmy’s Egg and Daybreak Diner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Wilson “CW” and Thelma (Brown) Dismuke; and three sisters, Betty Thompson, Dora Eason, and DeAlva Morris.

Roy is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of the home; his children, Rick Dismuke, of Duncan, Brenda and husband Jim Franklin, of Edmond, and Cindy Dismuke, of Duncan; four grandchildren, Dylan and Dalton Dismuke, of Duncan, Kaitlin and husband Mitchel Allen of OKC and Christian Franklin, of Edmond; one brother, Leemon and wife Darla Dismuke, of Duncan; two sisters, Kathy and husband Joe Henson, of Duncan and Frankie Jones of Willis, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by lifetime friends, John and Pat Burke, Jim and Barbara Logue, LeRoy Youngblood, Royce and Pat Merchant and Dwight and Sherry Duncan.

Honorary pallbearers will be his coffee shop buddies, Dwight Duncan, Wayne Carroll, Jerry Alexander, Bill Stith, Ron Crook and Phillip Glover.
