Albert Dean Deweese
March 20, 1937 ~ March 6, 2016

Albert Deweese, 78 year old Woodward resident, died Sunday, March 6, 2016 in Woodward. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am Friday in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial will be held at a later date. 

Albert Dean Deweese was born on March 20, 1937 in Woodward, Oklahoma to David Leroy and Mary Josephine (Triplett) Deweese. He attended Fort Supply schools, then on to Oklahoma Panhandle State University and Southwestern State College graduating with a diploma in Watch and Clock making. He was united in marriage to Ivonna Marie Flock on November 17, 1956 in Ft. Supply, Oklahoma.

Albert worked for Swisher Jeweler in Delta, Colorado. Then he and Ivonna moved back to Fort Supply where they owned and operated the Deweese Variety store. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for 38 years and had 4D Dozer Service for 18 years. He enjoyed custom combining, race cars, milling cedars, tinkering in his shop and working on the farm.

Albert was a member of the Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his best friend and wife of almost 60 years, Ivonna, and his children and grandchildren. Albert enjoyed traveling and visiting with his friends and everyone he ran into. Albert loved spending time in the Colorado mountains, including 4-wheeling, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife Ivonna Deweese of the home; three sons, Dan Deweese and wife Gerrie, Donald Deweese and wife Pam, Steven Deweese and wife Shannon; one daughter Joyce Pharis and husband Don; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, David LeRoy (DL) Deweese, Jr., half-brother, Marion Cooper, and his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to your local fire department in honor of Albert.
