Kayron Elizabeth Devereaux, born on October 30, 1942, in Los Angeles, Calif., passed away on November 30, 2025, in Shawnee, Okla.
She lived a remarkable life, defined by her unwavering love for family, dedication to her community, and a strong faith that guided her through life's challenges. Kayron began her career as a sale barn clerk and later pursued her passion for real estate after receiving her license. For over 34 years, she was an esteemed member of Century 21, earning multiple awards throughout her tenure.
Her commitment to serving the community extended beyond her professional pursuits; she held various leadership roles, including past vice president of the Shawnee Women's Aglow and the Shawnee Salvation Army. Her initiatives, such as Bikes for Kids, the Angel Tree, and Back to School Supplies drive for children, showcased her caring spirit and dedication to making a positive impact.
Throughout her life, Kayron made treasured memories with her family, particularly enjoying vacation trips to Branson with her kids and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she always took great pride in their accomplishments. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness.
Kayron is survived by her beloved husband, Arthur Devereaux, with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. She is also survived by her sons, Robert Devereaux and wife Cori of Seminole, Okla., Larry Devereaux of Meeker, Okla., and Brad Devereaux and wife Tracey of Meeker. In addition, she cherished her grandchildren, including Kyle Devereaux and wife Nikki, Cody Devereaux and wife Macy, Kaycie Kreider and husband Colton, Bobbi Jo Devereaux, Josh Devereaux and wife Molly, Shayla Graham and husband Dylan, Mikayla Mullendore, Zachary Devereaux, Laci Devereaux, Kaylyn Devereaux, Madilyne Devereaux, Jade Devereaux, Legend Devereaux, and Ali Standlee, along with her 12 great-grandchildren. Kayron is also survived by her sister, Betty Hehnly and husband Clair.
She was preceded in death by her father, Levi Nuckols; mother, Dora Jo Nuckols; sister, Jean Batterton; and brother, Larry Nuckols. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service in Shawnee. A funeral service will follow on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Faith Christian Outreach in Shawnee. Kayron Elizabeth Devereaux will be remembered not only for her career accomplishments but for the warm and loving presence she brought to every life she touched. Her strength, generosity, and joy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
