Rose M. Denton passed away on May 4, 2025, at her home in Blackwell, at the age of 68.
Rose was born in Oklahoma City to Bill and Virginia Barrows on August 25, 1956. She completed high school and later earned a cake decorating degree. She worked in Quality Control at Tyson’s Meat Packing Plant, where she contributed to ensuring food safety and product standards. Rose married Cary Denton on September 22, 2018. In her spare time, she enjoyed arts and crafts, fishing, and spending quality moments with those she loved—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rose has many nieces and nephews whom she also loved dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Cary Denton, of Blackwell, OK; her children—sons Billy Russell (with wife Katherine) and Kirt Russell (with wife Leslie), and daughter Jackie Russell (with significant other Jerry Shouse), all of Blackwell, OK; her step-children—Amy Dulaney (and husband, Eric) of Wichita, Kansas; Jeff Denton (with wife Christin) of Dixon, California; Mike Denton of Colinsville, Oklahoma; and Jennifer Roundtree of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma; her 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; her five sisters—Linda Killman; Karen Watkins (with husband Bill); Joyce Mayse; Delores Schierling (with significant other Madison Jones); and B.J. Smith; and her brother, Danny Barrows (with wife Ginny) of Mountainview, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Virginia Barrows; a great-grandson, Elijah Walton; a niece, Barbie Wood; and her three brothers-in-law—Bobby Killman, Chuck Mayse, and Ronnie Smith.
Visitation is scheduled for 2:00–5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Roberts & Son Funeral Home.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, in the Roberts & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Carolyn Rickner of Blackwell, Oklahoma officiating. Cremation to follow at a later date.
Casketbearers will be Rusty Watkins, Jesse Wood, Braxton Rhea, Austin Russell, Daniel Duarte, and Tay’vion Moore.
