Virginia Ann (Lee) Sharpe Denison

Virginia Ann (Lee) Sharpe Denison
September 5, 1928 ~ October 21, 2016

Virginia Ann Sharpe Denison, age 88, and a resident of Fort Worth, Texas, received her angel wings Friday, October 21, 2016. As was her wish, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Virginia was born on September 5, 1928 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Marion Edwards Lee and Lawrence A. Lee, the first of three children. She graduated from Ponca City High School before attending Oklahoma A & M College for one year where she met Aaron Lee Sharpe and married him December 26, 1947. To this union were born 4 children: Pam Sober, William "Bill" Sharpe, Margaret Hudgens, and Kirk Sharpe. After moving to California for a number of years, the family moved back to Ponca City.

After the death of Aaron in 1971, Virginia married William Ellis Denison in 1978. They were married until his death in 1995.

During her life, Virginia worked off and on at a number of different jobs, but her passion was her family. She was a caring, loving individual and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the main interests in her life. During her years in Ponca City, she was a member of the First Methodist Church and DAR.

She is survived by her brother, Richard G. Lee and his longtime companion Donald; three of her children: Pam Sober and husband Tom, William Sharpe and wife Joy, Kirk Sharpe and wife Catherine. Grandchildren: Becki Sober Flanagan and husband Trevor, Scott Sober and wife Mary, Angie Robinson, Michelle Branstetter and husband Michael, Aaron Sharpe and wife Marianne, and Christian Sharpe. Great-grandchildren: T.J. Flanagan, Drake Flanagan, Thomas Sober, Layla Sober, Davis Sharpe, Cooper Sharpe, Michelle Clarke, Joshua Clarke, and great-grandson Noah Wolf whom she never had the chance to meet.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Aaron, her second husband Bill, her brother Lawrence G. Lee, and her daughter Margaret Hudgens.

Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to a charity of your choice in her honor.
