Brownie Ann (Brown) Demmer
December 7, 1933 ~ February 13, 2023

Brownie Ann " Brown" Demmer, 89, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at home, surrounded by her loving husband of 49 years, David Demmer and her children; Ann Landers, John Clinkenbeard and James "Jim" Clinkenbeard. Brownie was born on December 7, 1933 to John and Ruby Mae (Hoskins) Brown in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.

Her parents preceded her in death. Brownie married Donnie W Clinkenbeard in 1952. After a hard-fought battle with leukemia,, Donald preceded her in death in 1969. On April 28th, 1973, Brownie married David M Demmer, in Muskogee Oklahoma. Both of them worked at Muskogee Veterans Affairs Regional Office, and in 1985 they moved to Phoenix, Arizona to continue working at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Regional Office until they retired to spend many wonderful years together. Brownie loved to cook and entertain family and friends, but those who loved her know her favorite pastime was at the casino. Brown was a member of the Cherokee Nation and a mean Indian, if you asked her. She loved her family stories and loved to scrapbook her pictures to show everyone the family that she loved so dearly. Every person that met Brownie, loved her infectious laugh and spit-fire personality.

Mourning her passing are her husband, David; children Ann Landers, John Clinkenbeard (Dalia), James " Jim" Clinkenbeard (Barbara); six grandchildren, Traci (Ryan) Cheeseman, Travis Landers, Lane Clinkenbeard, Dixie Clinkenbeard, Jeremy (Amy) Clinkenbeard, Bryan Clinkenbeard and 11 great grandchildren; sister Nancy Brown; sister-in-law, Martha Brown and several nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her son, Donald W Clinkenbeard Jr.; siblings, Marjorie (Charles) Naff, Annabelle (Finis) Ragsdale, William "Billy" Brown, Jack Brown and Louie Brown. Brownie leaves a legacy of integrity and servitude of a life well lived. A family memorial service in honor of Brownie's life will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona with the interment on March 24, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. The family of Brownie Ann Demmer has entrusted Best Funeral Services, Peoria, AZ with her care and cremation.
