Harvey Leon "Stubby" DeMint

August 6, 1927 ~ June 17, 2018 (Age 90)

Harvey Leon "Stubby" DeMint was born in Hazelton on August 6, 1927 to Harvey DeMint and Audrice Murphy DeMint and passed from this life on June 17, 2018 in Kiowa. 

He lived in Hazelton and Kiowa area where he attended Sand Creek Country School, graduated in May of 1945 from Hazelton High School and then farmed the land.  He and Barbara Jean Stout were married May 16, 1974 at Derby United Methodist Church.  Stubby had served his country in the U. S. Navy. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara DeMint; his step-daughter who was treated as his own, Debra J. Hargett and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Charles Lee Hargett, Todd Michael Hargett, Meghan Hargett and many "Pretend" grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Jessica Hargett, Hunter Glasco, Aubrey Hargett, Maygen Hargett, Bailey Hargett, Maddie Hargett and Braxton Gray.

Those who have preceded him in death are his parents, Harvey and Audrice DeMint and one brother, James Joseph DeMint.

Graveside service for Harvey Leon "Stubby" DeMint will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery near Hazelton.  Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa.  www.lanmanmemorials.com  Facebook:  Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice through the funeral home.
