Leslie Edward Delahay, Jr. (Ed) died Thursday, April 27 at The Journey Home Hospice House in Bartlesville. He was born September 23, 1925 in Jefferson City, Missouri, to Leslie Edward Delahay, Sr. and Mary Alice McNichols Delahay.

Ed graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1943 and entered the Army Air Corp. as a pilot cadet. His pilot class graduated on Sept. 28, 1945. The war was over. He returned home from the military and married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Meloy, on April 5, 1946. He then attended the university and graduated with a B.S. in Economics. His first job out of college was with the Corps of Engineers at Ft. Leonard Wood Missouri as a management analyst. He went from the Corps of Engineers to the Federal Aviation Administration's Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City in 1958. He earned a master's in Industrial Engineering. He was the Director of Management Systems, and later the Facility Manager of the Aeronautical Center. At the time of his retirement he was the Superintendent of the FAA Management and Supervisory Training School, which at the time was located on the campus of Cameron University, Lawton, Oklahoma.

Ed is survived by his wife, Rosalind Delahay, of the home; his son, David Meloy Delahay, Sr. and his wife Charlotte of Bartlesville Oklahoma; his daughter, Leslie Ann Delahay Robison and her husband Robbie of Oklahoma City; his son-in-law, David Pisenti of Fredericksburg, Virginia; his step-daughter, Tommie Endo of Pawhuska Oklahoma; Nine grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Meloy Delahay; his daughter, Linda Lucille Delahay Pisenti, his brother, John Stuart Delahay, and his sister, Charlotte Delahay McGregor.

Jesus in addressing Pilate said: "For this I was born and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth." Pilate responded with: "What is the truth?" Those who knew Ed, knew that he never missed an opportunity to explain the truth. We know he is still explaining the truth to those willing to listen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to The Journey Home Foundation, Inc., The Journey Home, 3406 SE Kentucky Street, Bartlesville, OK 74006
