Nora Mae (Brown) Deason
March 31, 1944 ~ May 22, 2023

Nora Mae Deason age 79, of Lane, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, in Durant, Oklahoma. Nora was born on March 31, 1944, in Pitchr, Oklahoma to Calvin Monroe and Sylvia Mae (Madlock) Brown. Nora graduated from SE High School in Oklahoma City and later married James Edward Deason on November 4, 1962. They were blessed with 54 years together and worked side by side at Mountain Lake in Ardmore for many years as Lake Manager and Chief Lake Ranger. She later retired to care for her husband and sisters. Jim passed away on March 29, 2016. Nora was a devoted homemaker and dreamed of being a nurse, she enjoyed crocheting and making floral arrangements. She was of the Christian Faith and had a deep love for her family and friends.

Nora is preceded in death by her husband James “Jim” Deason; parents Calvin and Sylvia Brown; sons James Edward Deason Jr., Steven Earl Deason, and Mike Ladell Deason; siblings Regina Brown, Willadean Bankson, Kenneth Brown, Frankie Bankson, Georgia Owen, Eugene Brown, Gearld Brown, Arthur Brown, Roberta Brown, and Johnny Brown; sister in laws Shirley Brown, Gladys Knight, Hazel Smith, and Betty Beach.

Nora is survived by her brother Lloyd Brown of Lane, OK; sister Anita Kay Miller of Oklahoma City; daughter in law Ruby Deason of Oklahoma City; grandson Gary James of Oklahoma City; granddaughter Christin Deason of Lanore, NC; granddaughter Hannah Deason of Chicago, IL; great granddaughter Maddison Deason of Oklahoma City; brother-in-law Gary Deason of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and special friend Belinda Howard of Lane, OK.

A celebration of Nora’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Greg Thralls to officiate. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
