Reba (Anderson) Davis

January 27, 1933 ~ January 21, 2006

Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. for longtime Taft resident, Reba Davis, 72.

Mrs. Davis was born in Commerce, Oklahoma on January 27, 1933 an was called home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2006.

She married Gene Davis on July 1, 1956 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they made their home in Taft.

Mrs. Davis worked as a telephone operator for many years in San Francisco and Taft.

She was a wonderful, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Davis loved her family more than life itself. Mrs. Davis loved vacationing with her family, especially trips to Bass Lake, Las Vegas and to her birth place in Oklahoma to visit friends. She was a passionate Fresno State fan and loved softball, football and basketball.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, William and Stella Anderson; her sisters, Opal Anderson and Milla Gay Gardner; and by her grandson, Kenneth Gene Davis.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gene Davis of Taft; her sons and their wives, Danny and Janice Davis of San Luis Obispo and Terry and Lisa Davis of Bakersfield; her daughter and her husband, Kathy and David Krugh of Bakersfield; her grandchildren, Chris, Stephen, Sara, Ashley, Kayle, Bradley and Lindsay; and by her niece, Shiela Shaw of Orangevale.

Friends that wish to pay their respects may do so on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mrs. Davis' name to the Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center, 650 Truxton Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93309 or the American Cancer Society, 1523 California Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93304.
