Emily Katsuno (Suetani) Davis passed away on October 23rd, 2025.
She was born on November 3rd, 1935, in Hawaii. She was at Pearl Harbor with her family as it was being bombed in 1941. She not only witnessed that infamous day for the United States but would go on to experience the aftermath of change that day brought for Japanese American citizens during the years of World War 2.
After she graduated high school, she married Roy Tara. They had two children together, Ron and Taren. Roy and Emily were divorced in 1968. She later moved to Oklahoma with her children.
She worked for the Canadian Valley Electric Company until her retirement and had many friends there.
On August 21, 1987, she married Bob Davis in Las Vegas, Nevada.
They enjoyed going to OU games together and she loved helping out and cooking for their local Elks Lodge where Bob was an active member. They were married for 25 years until he passed in 2013.
She loved their life of fun. In her last months, she said her years with him were the best of her life.
Emily was always the life of the party and adored socializing and hosting.
She also loved being a grandmother. She once drove through Hurricane Hugo to see her first grandchild. That was Emily. If she wanted something, nothing could stop her. She had a determined will and an unapologetic thirst for a life filled with excitement.
She is survived by her daughter, three grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
No formal services are planned, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
