Gerald Wayne Darity

SEPTEMBER 17, 1940 ~ MARCH 15, 2018 (AGE 77)

Gerald Wayne Darity was born in Velma, Oklahoma, on September 17, 1940, to Dee and Alveta Lounettie (Maxwell) Darity. He passed away at his home with his loving wife beside him.

Gerald graduated from Velma High School in 1958 and attended East Central University and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. He then served in the National Guard for two years and was honorably discharged. He later served as supervisor for Champlin Oil, and upon his retirement, he worked in the poultry business for 10 years. He met, fell in love with, and later married Pauline Jeanette Daniels, the love of his life, in 2012 and enjoyed a loving life with her until his death.

He was a member of the Duncan Antique and Classic Car Club, and some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, car cruises, and having coffee with Friends. He also enjoyed doing carpentry work, reading his automotive books, and attending car shows and swap meets.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pauline; two sisters, Mary Lou Hosler and Linda DeArmond; two sisters-in-law, Sadie Johnson and Emma Hill; one brother-in-law, Dr. Paul Daniels; four nieces, Lori Hosler, Tori Miller, Gena Mercer, and Carol Hill; three step-children, Roland (Lisa) Lambeth, Robert James Lambeth II, Rachel Lambeth Osborne (Eldonta); four step grandchildren; four great grandchildren, as well as a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Darity; brothers-in-law, Charles DeArmond and Phil Hosler; and nephew, Jeffery Darity.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, March 20, at 3:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David McAllister officiating.
