Gerald was born September 30, 1940, in Tulsa, OK, to Oris Guy “O.G.” Cypert and Edith Gladys (Hunt) Cypert. He passed away June 8, 2025, in Claremore, OK.

Gerald was a man of many talents, whose life was defined by his entrepreneurial spirit, adventurous heart, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. It wasn’t long before his talents led him into the world of sales and business ownership. He began his career working at a paint store. He was a used car salesman and manager at Toyota of Tulsa. He eventually opened his own dealership – Cypert Motor Company, on Southwest Boulevard in Tulsa. He was a crane service operator at Tulsa Lift and was also a mechanic. He was also a pilot, flying both airplanes and helicopters and even owned his business, Cypert Aircraft Sales, which he operated for over 20 years, selling a wide range of aircraft. Over the years, he also owned and operated a hardware store in Langley, as well as a grocery store and bait shop. Gerald was a thrill seeker and never one to shy away from excitement; he loved flying, owning a drag car and racing, and volunteering for the Tulsa Police Department. Gerald found joy in just about every adventure. Whether it was going to the casinos and traveling to some of his favorite places, such as Destin, FL, Branson, MO, or just a day at the lake. He was also an avid animal lover, and they held a special place in his heart. He was a supporter of local sports. Gerald enjoyed watching Oologah and Claremore baseball games and recently loved going to watch RSU Softball games. Most of all, his main love was spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Judy Cypert; daughters, Sherrie Cypert and husband, Allan Capps, and Kari Payne and husband, Brent of Claremore; son, Gerald “Tink” Cypert, Jr. and wife, Chasity; grandchildren, Jordan Cue, Dallas Capps and wife, Jessica of Okay, Natalie Young and husband, Jeff of Claremore, Brittni Jernigan and husband, Caleb of Bartlesville, Justin Payne and wife, Sassy of Poteau; Jessica Kelley and husband, Blake, Ashley Cypert, Austin Cypert and wife, Madison, Hunter Cypert, Garrett Cypert, Kiley Cypert and fiancé, Sheldon McCall; great-grandchildren, Madison Cue, Mia Cue, Isabel Capps, Noelle Capps, Caroline Capps, Cooper Young, Carson Young, Colson Jernigan, Jude Jernigan, Maci Jernigan, Olivia Payne, Grayson Kelley, Lola Kelley, Silas Kelley, Iris Kelley, Hali Cypert, and baby boy Cypert (on the way in October); sister, Sue Sweeten and husband, Ron of Tulsa; numerous nieces and nephews; his beloved pup, Gracie; and many other relatives and friends.
