Curtis Aaron Cox, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, was taken up by our Heavenly Father unexpectedly on December 26th, 2024, at the young age of 46 from cardiac arrest and kidney failure.
Curtis was preceded in death by his wife of 10 year Rebekka (Boo) Elizabeth Long Cox, his grandfather Eddie Wayne Petty on his mother’s side, and his grandfather and grandmother Omer Victor Cox and Ruby Ethel Cox on his father’s side.
Curtis is survived by his parents Michael Kevin Cox and Judy Kay Petty Cox of Ada Oklahoma; his brother Jared Michael Cox (Evelyn) of Blanchard Oklahoma; his grandmother Mary Rosalie Petty of Ada Oklahoma; his three sons Trey Griffin (Anna Lora) Cox of Texas, Xaviar Ray Cox of Davis Oklahoma, and Xander Lionel Cox also of Davis Oklahoma. He also leaves behind his former wife and mother of his oldest son, Virginia Bristow of Texas; two grandchildren (Zella and Zandra Cox), four nephews (Tyler Cox, Zachary Cox, Matthew Coble and Luke Long); twelve cousins, as well as countless loved ones and extended family.
Curtis was born in Ada, Oklahoma on January 23rd, 1978, to Mike and Judy Cox. He graduated from Dibble Hight School in 1996 and worked as an assistant manager for the Chickasaw Nation Travel Stop in Ada and as a machinist for Uniroyal Tire Plant in Ardmore. Curtis was a loving father, brother and son. He was kindhearted, laid back, and always smiling. He was a cinema enthusiast, an encyclopedia of random trivia, interested in politics and sports statistics, and the sweetest soul. He was known for his quick wit, aptitude for banter, and his ability to find humor in all things. Curtis was always game for conversation and his smile was infectious, lighting up every room he entered. He is irreplaceable and will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Curtis accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and his family finds solace in knowing that Curtis is with our Heavenly Father. His light will forever shine brightly in our hearts. We love you Curtis!
