Shirley Ann (Emerson) Click

Shirley Ann (Emerson) Click
June 9, 1935 ~ Aug. 4, 2019

Celebration of Life for Shirley Click will be Aug. 31, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Cremation arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Shirley was born on June 9, 1935, in Stilwell, Okla., to Alva Jefferson and Helen Jenkins Emerson and died on Aug. 4, 2019, in Enid. She was 84.

She grew up in Oklahoma and Kansas. Shirley started college in Chickasha and transferred to Stillwater, where she met Howard Click. She graduated from Oklahoma State University. On Nov. 3, 1957, Shirley and Howard married in Oklahoma City. Howard served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, so they lived all over the continental United States and Hawaii, which was her favorite military station. Following Howard's retirement, they served in Southern Baptist churches throughout Kansas and Oklahoma, he as pastor and her as pianist. She also regularly taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. They settled in Enid in 2000 to be near Vance Air Force Base.

Shirley was the family secretary for the Click clan and was an avid photographer and scrapbooker. She loved the Lord. She immensely enjoyed studying her Bible and was the ultimate prayer warrior. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, who died when she was young; and her aunt and uncle, Gussie and True Emerson, who raised her after her parents' death.

Shirley is survived by her best friend and husband of 61 years, Howard; six children, Helen Webster (Bob), Judy Rangel, Ruth Ann Replogle (Steve), Tim Click (Megan), Amy Carney (Tom), and Matt Click (Jamey); eight grandsons, Mario Flores (Jessica), Tito Flores, Miqueas Flores (Bethany), David Webster, John Webster (Caitie), Ethan Click, Elijah Click, and Sean Carney; seven great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; one brother, Charles Emerson (Delores); cousins, Patt "PJ" Smith (Carroll) and Sus'n "Sue" Jacobs; brothers-in-law, Howard Parks and Roy Good (Glennda); sisters-in-law, Bess Kessler and Evelyn Dunbar; other relatives and many close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church's mission fund.
