Robert Albert "Bob" Christian, Sr.

July 10, 1931 ~ March 11, 2004

Visitation for Robert Albert Christian, Sr., will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.) on Monday evening, March 15, 2004, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held at Hope Christian Center (201 E. Brundage) on Tuesday afternoon March 16, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Billy Woods will officiate and interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery (River Blvd.)

Bob was born July 10, 1931, in Muskogee, Oklahoma and he passed away on March 11, 2004, in Bakersfield with his family by his side. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Christian and Ollie Clayton and his sister, Norma Jean Powoll. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joella Christian; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dana Hall; sister, Juanita Carter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lou and Harold Jenkins and Carlene and Stan Turner; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Bob was a member of Hope Christian Center where he found spiritual enrichment and happiness. He was very active in feeding the homeless with the soup kitchen that is held every Thursday at his church. He loved the outdoors, fishing and going to auctions. His family was his life and he was a man with a "Heart of Gold." For additional service information or floral delivery, please contact Basham Funeral Care 873-8200.
