Flynn Wright Chivers

May 30, 1933 ~ April 8, 2016

A memorial service for Flynn Chivers, 82, of Ringwood, will be 10:30am, Friday, April 15, 2016, at Helena Church of Christ, with Minister Bill Springer officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Flynn was born to Flynn William and Etta Irene (Welch) Chivers, on May 30, 1933, in Clarendon, Arkansas, and passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016, in Enid.

Flynn graduated from Clarendon High School, attended college, and served in the United States Air Force, in the Korean War. On November 12, 1955 he married Gaytha Noah, in Enid, and they were married for 60 years. Flynn worked over 25 years as an air traffic controller, in San Antonio, and Memphis. He was an avid outdoorsman.

He is survived by his wife Gaytha; son Flynn Wayne and DeEtte of Springville, Utah; 3 grandchildren Corrin Owens and Christopher, Camille Burnell and Ryan, and Flynn Weston and Kristin; 7 great-grandchildren Ethan Flynn, Andrew, Knox, Nash, Brady, Ezekiel Flynn, and Sterling; and brother Noel Chivers and Stephanie.

Flynn was preceded in death by his daughter Carla, brother Buddy, and sister Doris.
