Shirley Ann (Malone) Chastain
Sept. 1, 1938 ~ Oct. 12, 2008

Shirley Ann Chastain, 70, of Calera, passed away Sunday afternoon, Oct. 12, 2008, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant.

She was born Sept. 1, 1938, in Colbert, and was the daughter of the late Willie and Winnie Worthy Malone. She was a homemaker and lived in Bryan County most of her life. She married Marion Chastain in Farmersville, Texas, in 1958, and he preceded her in death Feb. 7, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by brother Billie Malone, sister Marylee Stanglin, and great-grandson Thomas Seth Gartman.

She is survived by her son Rickey Chastain and his wife Sue of 29 Palms, Calif., daughters Donna Boehme and her husband Robert and Debbie Grove, all of Calera, and Tammy Bull of Alvord, Texas, six grandchildren, Douglas Chastain, Richard Chastain, Philip Boehme, Misty Gartman, Justin and Haileigh Bull, three great-grandchildren, Jordan Boehme, Mykah and Preslee Gartman, sister Linda Owens of Colorado Springs, Colo., numerous nieces and nephews, a best friend Margie Archer and a host of other friends.

Shirley requested her body be donated to the Oklahoma State University Science for research knowledge.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Grace Baptist Church in Durant with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.
