James Edward "Ed" Chase

James Edward "Ed" Chase
November 4, 1933 ~ January 31, 2017

Memorial Services for Mr. James Edward "Ed" Chase, 83, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00 a. m. in the Herb Clark Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mack McCarthick officiating. Mr. Chase passed away on January 31, 2017 at the Blue River Health Care facility.  At his request, the family selected cremation.

Ed was born on November 4, 1933 in Alva, Oklahoma to Martin Ward Chase and Nellie (Moore) Chase. He was a graduate of Tishomingo High School, attended Murray State College and received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. After graduation, Ed served in the United States Army. He married Joyce Gatz in Alva in 1960 and after living in Tulsa and Irving, Texas where he worked for Frito Lay for several years, they moved permanently to Tishomingo where they owned and operated the Shady Oaks Bait Shop. Ed was an active member of the Baptist faith and Gideon's International.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joyce; his eldest sister, Eleanor Guffey and his elder brother, Donald Ward Chase.  Ed is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a very large extended family.

Memorials may be made in Ed's name to the Texoma Gideon Camp, PO Box 573, Tishomingo, OK  73460.
