Leslie Joe Chappell

Feb. 21, 1933 ~ Oct. 11, 2013

Services for Leslie Joe Chappell, 80, of Ada, are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Ada Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bishop Bob Niblett, Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Santaquin, Utah.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home. A viewing will be held from 8:30 until 9:30 Tuesday at the church.

Joe died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born on Feb. 21, 1933, in Delta, Utah, to Leslie Bird and Ellen Irene Sampson Chappell. He graduated from high school in Wayne, Utah.

He married Judith Ott. He and his wife moved to Ada six years ago from Pittsburg, Oklahoma.

Joe was a rancher and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ada.

He is survived by his wife, Judith; four daughters, Dorothy (Carl) James, Christine (Milton) Johnston, Tamra (Victor) Petersen, and JoLyn (Noni) Chappell; two stepsons, Greg (Jackie) Brumley and Gary (Cathy) Brumley; 30 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.

 Mr. Chappell was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a grandson.
