The Memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Gary Chappell, 75, of Enid, will be held privately. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Gary Lane Chappell passed away on April 13th, 2023. Gary was Born July 5th, 1947, in a farmhouse southeast of Ames, Oklahoma.

His parents, Horace E. Chappell and May "Madeline" Bossart-Chappell preceded him in death. He is survived by his former spouse, Paula; two daughters, Kristin and Haley; and three grandchildren, Milly, Decker, and Summer.

Gary was a 1965 graduate of Enid High School. He also graduated from Oklahoma City University with a BS Degree.

While in the U.S. Marine Corps, he served two Vietnam tours of duty aboard the USS Coral Sea Aircraft Carrier.

Gary's career consisted of two parts, first half being a commercial pilot, flying many types of aircraft. He flew business jets all around the world, and his last aviation job was pilot for a commuter airline.

His second career was commercial real estate in Oklahoma City.

Gary chose to be cremated and, per his wishes, no formal funeral will be given.
