Sharon Renee (Busby) Chapman
October 19, 1956 ~ May 10, 2008

Memorial service for Sharon Renee Chapman, age 51, of Chickasha will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday May 16, 2008 at the Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha.

Sharon Renee Chapman was born October 19, 1956 in Chickasha. She was the daughter of Bennie Busby and Joretta Leblue. She died Saturday May 10, 2008 in Chickasha.

Sharon grew up in Blanchard, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school in 1974.

She married Steve Chapman on October 27, 1979.

Sharon went to work for the City of Chickasha in 1974 where she is currently employed as City Clerk. She was past president of the Oklahoma Municipal Clerks, Treasurers and Finance Officials Association. She was a member of the board of directors for the Oklahoma Hall of Fame for city and town officials.

She was also active in Santa's Workshop and a past member of the Optimists Club.

Sharon took pride in her lawn and enjoyed time at Lake Texhoma, relaxing, fishing, and TV shows such as Survivor, Big Brother, Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader and Dancing with the Stars.

She was a great cook and was always very organized. Her favorite things included frogs, cross stitching, geocashing and road trips in the Jeep with Steve.

She was currently studying to get her ham radio license.

She is survived by her husband Steve Chapman of the home; her daughter Randi Chapman, of Tulsa; her mother and step father, Joretta and Howard Paige of Blanchard; her father, Bennie Busby of Florida; her mother-in-law Leatrice Chapman of Blanchard; her sister and family, Karen, John and Brooke Gentry; her brother and family, Shane, Cheryl, Molly and Cody Busby of Florida; her step brother Dennis Paige and wife Stacie; and a host of family and friends.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Santa's Workshop or a charity of their choice in Sharon's name.

Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
