Karolin Kay Byrd, 74 year old Shattuck resident, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Shattuck. A family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billing Funeral Home.

Karolin Kay Byrd was born on July 10, 1949 in Hobbs, New Mexico to James Royce and Ellen Mae (Mullin) Oglesby Byrd. She grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico, Beaver, Oklahoma and Woodward. Karolin received her GED in 1986. Karolin drove a cement truck for LeRoy Ready Mix for many years and was a stay at home mom with her kids.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading, eating super spicy food but most of all Karolin loved spending time with her family. Karolin also enjoyed going to the Catholic church.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Loyd and wife Sallie; daughters: Valerie Annette Wisdom and husband Glen, Alicia Loyd and husband Daniel Gusafson; grandchildren: Kim, David, Laura, Mikki, Jerrick, Sarah, Valerie, Landon, and Skye Lyn, Aylicia, Jarrod, Trenton, Brian, Austin, Jennika, Jayden and TJ; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Mahala, Xander, Nikolas, Aarick, Ella, Kylie, Luke, Layla, Blakely, Braylee, Leighton, Aden; other relatives and many friends.

Karolin was preceded in death by her dad, James Royce Byrd, mom, Ellen Mae Oglesby, son, Royce Lee Loyd, and two brothers Billy Jo Oglesby, Ralph Byrd, and a great-grandson Cody Loyd.
