Virgil "Earl" Bryant

Memorial services for Virgil "Earl" Bryant, 59, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Purcell.

Virgil was born March 21, 1949 in Tularosa, N.M., to Virgile and Lucille (Walker) Bryant and died Oct. 16, 2008.

Earl loved the outdoors and spent many years working in the logging industry of New Mexico. His love of working with heavy equipment continued as he and his wife moved to Norman. Co-workers at Haskell Lemon Construction-Norman considered him to be a dedicated worker and said he will be deeply missed.

Preceding him in death was his parents and a brother, Shelby.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Marty Bryant; five children, Tonya Joorabchi and husband Kirk of Haysville, Kan., Laronda Southworth and husband Doug of Clayton, Ind., Eric Stoup and wife Jennie of Lincoln, Neb., Jonathan Stoup and wife Claudia of Lone Wolf, and Dean Bryant of Alabama; 10 grandchildren; sister Norma Jean Bryant of Alamogordo, N.M.; brother, JT Bryant of Florida; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
