Charlene Elizabeth (Clarke) Bryan

19 Nov 1949 ~ 15 Mar 2005

Charlene was born on November 19, 1949, in Cushing, Oklahoma to Charles and Elnora Clarke, and passed away on March 15, 2005, at the age of 55.

She lived in Bakersfield with her mother and her two brothers, Phillip and Richard, since she was a little girl. She attended twelve years of school, graduating from Bakersfield High School, and eventually taking a job with the Bakersfield Californian as an advertisement artist. She remained an employee there for almost 20 years.

Charlene is preceded in death by her mother, Elnora Clarke, her father, Charley Clarke, brother, Phillip Hagar and father-in-law, Joe Bryan. She is survived by her husband, Dave, her son, Justin Holman with wife and son, Mandy and Nathan, her brother, Richard Hagar with wife, Jan, her stepdaughters, Stephanie and Kristen with son, Brandon and daughter, Maggie, her stepsons, Anthony and Matthew with fianc� and daughter, Christine and Rilee.

Charlene was known and loved by many as Widget and Little Bit for all the toughness she fit inside her 411 frame, and a whole host of other names that portrayed her fun loving orneriness and hardheadedness. She was the proudest mother of a Marine that there ever was, referring to herself as M&M, Marine Mom. She is loved and missed by all that knew her.

Viewing services will be held on Monday, March 21, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Kern River Family Mortuary, 1900 North Chester Avenue, with a graveside service to be held on Wednesday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd.
