October 22, 1964 ~ January 20, 2021

Memorial services for Lori Susan Brown will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2021, at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Brown officiating. There will be a visitation with the family at Marshall Funeral Home Thursday January 28, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Masks are requested at the service and the visitation.

Lori Susan Brown, daughter of Joyce Faye (Rauch) King and the late Charles Freeman King, was born October 22, 1964, in Waynoka, Oklahoma, and passed away January 20, 2021, in Hays, Kansas, at the age of 56 years, 2 months and 29 days.

Lori graduated from Waynoka High School in 1982 and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where she majored in art. On June 9, 1989, she was united in marriage to Rick Brown at the Methodist Church in Alva, where they made their home. On November 6,1998, they welcomed their son Rafferty Chance.

She was a very talented artist who loved watching Rafferty playing baseball and spending time in the mountains around Creede, Colorado, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Lori also enjoyed talking politics with her friends, who commented that she would pre-apologize before she gave you what she thought.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles King, and two nephews, Chaz King and Joe Brown.

Lori is survived by her husband, Rick Brown of Alva; son, Rafferty Brown of Alva; her mother, Joyce King of Wellington, Kansas; brother, Chuck King and wife, Michelle, of Wellington; sisters, Gayla Milledge and husband, Larry, of Waynoka and Cathy King of Wellington; 11 nieces/nephews, Eric Milledge, Emily Smith-Dunn, Bill King, Bella King, Caroline King, Orry King, Ian King, Kaytlin Brown, Taylor Brown, Megan Brown and Colton Brown; seven great nieces/nephews, Aspen Milledge, Wesley Milledge, Serenity Milledge, Paris Smith-Dunn, Titan Smith-Dunn, Apollo King, Persephone King; many other relatives and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Campus Cabinet or the Alva Food Bank.
