James Alvin Brown Sr.

James Alvin Brown Sr.
February 15, 1953 ~ May 7, 2025

James Alvin Brown Sr. was born February 15, 1953 to Sunny Johnson and Nancy (Johnson) Brown in Depew, Oklahoma. He departed this life May 7, 2025 at the age of 72 years.

James grew up in and around the Depew area and remained a lifelong resident. James and Roberta Brown began their life together in 1973. Nearly 53 years brought them much love and joy as they went through life together. James worked tirelessly providing for his family as a mechanic; cars, trucks, lawn mowers. If it had an engine, he could fix it. He loved to be out in nature with fresh air and a cool breeze. Hobbies, not James, he worked. Of course, when you love what you do, it’s never work, and James loved helping people. His true passion was serving the Lord and his greatest joy, his family. James attended regularly at First Baptist Depew. He served honorably with the United States Army and always remained a patriotic man.

James is survived by his wife, Roberta; six children, Allie Goudeau and husband Cecil of Sapulpa, Shaun Gaines, Casey Jackson and husband Ellory of Tulsa, Jamie Moore and husband Leonard of Beggs, Marquita Brown and Shaman Branscum of Bristow and James Brown Jr. of Depew; four siblings, Faye Johnson, Teddy Wilson, Wilma Harrison and Ronnie Wilson; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents.
