Elmer Brown, Jr.

June 28, 1938 ~ 1997

Funeral services for Elmer Brown, Jr., were conducted Tuesday, September 2nd, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. from the Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Aubrey Cowan and Rev. Henry Fletcher officiating.

Burial followed in the Wheeler Cemetery, Wheeler, Texas under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.

Elmer Brown, Jr., was born June 28, 1938 in Morrilton, Arkansas to Elmer and Nellie Bartz Brown and passed away Saturday at the age of 59.

He was raised by his father and stepmother, Ruby, as his mother passed away while he was in infancy.

He came to western Oklahoma and west Texas as a young boy and graduated from Allison High School.

Elmer worked for PSO for some 30 years.

He was married to Katherine on May 9, 1981 and has lived in the Elk City area since 1967.

Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Dale Brown.

Survivors include his wife Katherine Brown of the home; and children Karen Sizemore of Weatherford; Terrie Wilmeth of Owasso; Rhonda Lovelace of Hammon; Brenda Vincent of Lookeba-Sickles and Denice Cook of California; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also his stepmother, Ruby Brown of Wheeler, Texas; four sisters, Brenda Davis of Trinidad; Opal Childress of Borger, Texas; Pat Scott of New Carlisle, Texas; and Nelda Babb of Wheeler; two brothers, Bobby Brown of Wheeler; and James Brown of Giddings, Texas.
