Services for John William Broseh, 82, were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Thackerville High School Auditorium. Officiating were Mr. Floyd Johnson and Mr. Percy Perish.
Born January 16, 1909, in Erath County, Texas, Mr. Broseh died July 21, 1991, in the Gainesville Memorial Hospital, Gainesville, Texas. He was the son of Joe Silas and Mary Ida Serena Howell Broseh.
Mr. Broseh, a resident of Thackerville since 1960, had just recently moved to Gainesville. He was a retired minister with the Church of Christ, having served many churches in Texas and Oklahoma for 60 years. While living in Thackerville, he was a school bus driver from 1962 until 1988. Mr. Broseh and the former Clara Loveless were married April 2, 1938, in Lufkin, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara Broseh of Gainesville; a son, David Broseh of Benbrook, Texas; three brothers, Floyd J. Broseh of Electra, Texas, Jessie T. Broseh of Blanket, Texas, and Joel R. Broseh of Riesel, Texas; four sisters, Ida Mary Corley and Minnie Mae Helfers of Arlington, Texas, Lou Etta McLain of Lufkin, and Donnie Dee Kellum of Timpson, Texas; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with burial in Resthaven Cemetery, Gainesville. Pallbearers were Bob Scott, Randy Monkres, Bob Young, Elvis Monkres, Joel Young, and Anthony Reed. Honorary pallbearers included Randall Reed, Larry Jones, and Danny Jones.
