James G. Brooks
July 15, 1948 ~ March 10, 2023

James G. Brooks, 74 of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on March 10, 2023. James was born in Sturgis, Kentucky to Clayton and Emma (Hazel) Brooks. James was one of nine kids, he attended school in Sturgis, Kentucky.

James later worked for the railroad as a powderman, he later retired from Kraft General Foods. In 1990 James married Deborah Gibson in Reno, Nevada. Together they raised their boys and lived in California, Texas, and the last five years in Durant, OK. James enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, his dog Jack, and being with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters, and his eldest son, Frank Mark.

James is survived by his loving wife Deborah Brooks, sons Troy Brooks and wife Tami of Sherman, TX, Trevor Brooks, and wife Staci of OKC, OK, Dusty DeFury and wife Lisa of Melissa, TX, Joshua DeFury and wife Cynthia of Durant, OK, eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous other family members.

Private family services are being held at a later date.
