Claud Carl Brewer

Apr. 12, 1920 ~ Dec. 28, 2004

Claud was born in Redoak, Oklahoma. He was the only child of Earl and Martha Brewer. Claud and his father moved to LaVeta, Colorado in 1922. He attended LaVeta elementary and high school and it was there that he met his wife, Lillie Taylor Brewer. They married in 1937 at age 16. Claud moved his family to Delano, California in 1944 when he entered the Army. He was stationed in Luzon, the Philippines until his discharge in 1946.

Claud and Lillie moved their family to Pixley, California in 1947 and he opened a real estate business there in 1952. He retired and closed his business in 1982. Retirement gave Claud more time for his passion of fishing and his fishing buddies. Claud became a Christian late in his life and it was his strong faith in God that sustained him during the six years that he cared for his Lillie who preceded him in death by six months.

Claud is survived by two his two sons, Stan and his wife, Jane of Bakersfield and Darold and his wife, Pat of Bullhead City, Arizona; seven grandsons, Kavin, Kent, Chris Brewer, all of Bakersfield, Mitchell and Matthew Brewer of Montgomery, Alabama and William and Michael Brewer of Arizona. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.

Claud was an honorable man. A good husband, father/father-in-law, and a wonderful grandfather and loyal friend. He will be missed.

Chapel services will be held today, Tuesday, January 4, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, 132 West Kern Ave., in Tulare. A private burial will be held at the Tipton-Pixley Cemetery.
