Glen Lee Brady

Glen Lee Brady
June 18, 1936 ~ January 9, 2025

Glen Lee Brady passed from this life on Thursday, January 9, 2025, peacefully in Springfield, MO.

Lee was born to Joseph and Jessie Brady, June 18, 1936, in Jefferson, Oklahoma. Lee the oldest of 10 children, grew up modestly on a small farm in Nowata, Oklahoma. He was a Nowata High School football standout and was later honored at Nowata High School, being entered into the Nowata Sports Hall of Fame.

After high school, Lee went on to play football at Tulsa University where he also obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, and then to Wichita State University, where he received his Master's in Accounting.

Lee married Maxine Walsh in 1962 in Wichita, KS. Lee and Maxine spent some years in Wichita, but really built their life in Enid, Oklahoma, where Lee's career with BKD took them in 1976. Lee enjoyed a long career as a CPA and Partner with BKD, where he served many clients throughout the community. In Enid, they grew their life around friendships, many at the Oakwood Country Club where they each enjoyed many rounds of golf, card games, and wonderful country club events. One of Lee's favorite accomplishments was winning the Oakwood Country Club Annual Four Ball Golf Tournament in five different decades. Lee was proud to have served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

Lee will be remembered by many as an excellent CPA, an avid golfer, clever card player, a storyteller, a man who loved to laugh, chew on cigars and a great friend. He will be missed.

Lee is survived by a son, Michael Brady (Andrea), Springfield, MO; granddaughter, Cassie Brady, Orlando FL; stepson, Tim Schulze (Donna) Wichita, KS; step-grandson, Troy Schulze Wichita, KS; stepdaughters-in-law, Dawn Schulze and Rhonda Schulze. In addition, Lee has four surviving sisters, Elaine Goff, Joan Brewer, Marie Hogie, and Uleta Reynolds, and many other relatives and friends who loved him.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 44 years, Maxine; his stepsons, Steve Schulze and Jeff Schulze; a step-grandson, Jordan; three brothers, Melvin Brady, DeWayne Brady, Jimmy Brady; and two sisters, Bonnie Holt and Alta Lindley; also his late-in-life special friend and partner, Dorothy Cochran.

The family will hold a Celebration of Lee at a later date in Enid, OK. Lee's final resting place will be with his wife Maxine at St Michael's Cemetery in Wheaton, KS.
