Carl Bozarth

June 25, 1931 ~ Nov. 6, 2006

Peters Funeral Home will conduct a graveside funeral service on Friday, November 10 at 1 p.m. at Wasco Memorial Park for Carl Bozarth, age 75, of Wasco who passed away November 6, at home. Pastor Jimmie Nixon of the Shafter First Missionary Baptist Church will officiate and interment will follow.

Mr. Bozarth was born June 25, 1931 in Stratford, Oklahoma to William and Alma Fanny [Ward] Bozarth.

He moved to California in 1948, living in Shafter then the Buena Park area before settling down in Wasco in 1962.

He married Eva June Howard September 2, 1950.

Carl owned and operated the gas station on the corner of Hwy 46 and Poplar from 1962 until 1998. It was first branded Atlantic Richfield, then Arco. Texaco finally becoming Bozarth,s Tire & Lube. He was the last full service station in Wasco.

He enjoyed playing baseball, pinball machines, shuffleboard, pool and poker, but his favorite hobby was horse racing.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eva Bozarth of Wasco; daughter, Cathy Colbert and husband, Thomas of Wasco; sons, Carl "Nateo/oo Bozarth and wife, Tammy of Bakersfield and Jerry "Bruceo/oo Bozarth and wife, Terri of Wasco; sisters, Alice Johnson of Concord, Rena "Imogeneo/oo Boney of Shafter and Louise Howard of Monroe; brother, Jerry Don Bozarth of Wasco; 8 grandchildren, Nicky, Taryn, Ashlyn, Michael, Ryan, Tyler, Carlyn and Kaitlyn; 1 great grandson, Juke; and a host of other loving family members, including many nieces and nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Thelma Howard; sister, Mildred Thompson; brothers, Thomas, W.O., Jim and Robert "Bud.

Donations may be made in Carl's name to Hoffmann Hospice, 5300 California Ave., Suite 1, Bakersfield, CA 93309.
