Joe Ben Bowen

November 9, 1958 ~ October 9, 2009

Memorial Services for Joe Ben Bowen, a former Coalgate resident, will be held Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jeff Self officiating.

Mr. Bowen was born November 9, 1958 in McAlester, OK to Elmer "Hotshot" and Estelle Long Bowen and passed away October 9, 2009 in Coalgate, at the age of 50. He attended McAlester Schools, married Charletta on October 3, 1998 in Wardville, OK, was a heavy equipment operator and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife Charletta Tedrick-Bowen of Stonewall, OK; step-son, James Hume of Halispell, NM; step-daughter, Daniell Hill of Ada, OK; sisters, Lacey Hartley and husband Charles of St. Petersburg, FL and Deanna Normand and husband Frank of LaPlace, LA; brothers, Jim Bob Bowen and Michael Yancey; along with numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother Leoma Bowen; grandfather Lacy Bowen; Aunt Colleen "Ricky" Clotfelter and Uncle George Clotfelter.
