Terri Bernice Booth, 70, of Midwest City, OK, passed away April 11, 2026, peacefully surrounded by those who loved her most. Terri was born in Amarillo, TX on Tuesday, November 29,1955, to June and Jimmie Carter. She graduated from Guymon Highschool with the class of 1974.
In Guymon she dearly loved marching with the Guymon high school band for 5 years, as a twirler, including marching in the 1974 tournament of roses. She participated in the Masonic Lodge’s Rainbows Association and became the youngest worthy advisor in Guymon’s history.
After Highschool she earned her private pilot’s license, and it was said that flying was the freest she had ever felt. However, her greatest achievement has and always will be becoming a mom, on May 31,1981 her biggest blessing was born, her daughter Kristen, 10 years later to the day her second blessing was born, May 31,1991, her daughter Hayley. In 1988 Terri and Kristen moved to Yukon, OK and she began her career with DPS.
She started her career at DPS in the financial responsibility office and went on to work in the real estate management office. She also worked in the Chief of the Highway Patrol’s office and the major’s office. She finished her 27-year career as the Academy coordinator for the Highway Patrol and retired in 2011 at the age of 56. Every task Terri completed brought joy. She loved helping others find their purpose. Even in retirement she loved each of the OHP brown shirts she selected during her time as the academy coordinator.
She got to spend her retirement going to concerts and games with her 2 daughters and in 2013 her first granddaughter Rachel was born. She wore the name Nonni like a badge, it has and will be the greatest thing she’s ever done. She loved Rachel in ways she could never fully explain and doted over her every breath. She referred to it as a “different” kind of love, a love that she never knew was possible. In 2014 she gained a Grandson Brayden, and in 2021 she gained another granddaughter, Slade. Her heart was so full in so many ways. Her greatest purpose in life was being a Nonni to her grandbabies born and found.
Though she only gave birth to 2 daughters, she became a mom to those who needed a mother. She loved all her children with her whole heart. She called the kids she looked after her “other children” and made sure to tell everyone about them. She was there whenever her kids needed her, no matter what time of day or night. She was the greatest mother and Nonni anyone could ever ask for. She loved each individual unconditionally, without question, and they all knew that. She found worth in them when the rest of the world didn’t. She made them feel wanted when they often felt no one else did. They were truly the luckiest to experience the love she had to give. The world would be a much better place if we all had a mother like Terri.
She is preceded in death by: her biological father Lloyd Novak, her daddy Jimmie Carter, mother June Carter, and her cousin Mike Voyles.
She is survived by: her brother Gerald Carter and husband Will Dooley, her brother Dennis Carter and wife Raven, her nieces and nephews, her daughters Kristen Booth, Hayley Russell and Husband Bryan, her daughter Logan Lore and husband Landon, her grandbabies Rachel, Brayden, and Slade. Her sister and brothers, Tracey Holland, Todd Novak, Tim Novak, and Rob Novak. Her life long very special friends Jeanne Voyles and Becky Hahn, and her heart dog Margot.
Her services will be held at Barnes-Friederich & Pope funeral home at 1820 S Douglas Blvd, Midwest city, OK 73130 on Saturday April 18th at 1:00pm. If you cannot attend in person, there will be a live stream on Hayley’s and Terri’s Facebook pages. The family asks that no one wears black, only bright colors, this is a celebration of life and Terri’s last wishes was that her end of life celebration be as colorful as she was.
