Ruth Marie (Sixkiller) Bolin was born on January 9, 1955, in Leach, Oklahoma, to Rufus and Nancy Ann (Russell) Sixkiller. She passed from this life on Monday, January 6, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 28 days.
Ruth grew up in the Leach area, where she attended school. On July 4, 1971, she married Ramon Leon Bolin at Elm Church in Leach, Oklahoma. The couple shared over 24 years of marriage before Ramon’s passing on December 10, 1995. Ruth dedicated her life to being a loving homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.
A proud full-blood Cherokee, Ruth was a first-language Cherokee speaker. She was known for her exceptional cooking skills, particularly her pies and cobblers, and was also talented in beadwork. Her energy and determination were as remarkable as her kindness and devotion to her family.
Ruth was a devoted member of Faith Baptist Church in Locust Grove. She took great joy in sending cards to her church family for various occasions and lived her life as a testament to her unwavering faith in Jesus. Her Christian spirit and loving heart touched all who knew her.
Ruth’s greatest joy was her family. She was a sweet and caring person who deeply cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by: 2 daughters: Cindy Brickey and husband Greg of Salina, Oklahoma and Amy Bolin of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 3 sons: Ramon Bolin, Jr. of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Ross Bolin of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Damien Bolin of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren: Derrek Brickey and wife Hillary, Jake Brickey and wife Michaela, Nikkia Bolin and Jayce Rooks and Candace Bolin and Brett Gann; 11 great grandchildren; 1 sister: Anna Lou Sixkiller of Kansas, Oklahoma; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; an infant baby; 2 daughters: April Bolin and Crissy Bolin; 2 sons: Shaun Bolin and D.J. Bolin; 2 great grandchildren: Arrow Bolin and Kennedy Brickey.
A memorial service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Little Rock Baptist Church, with Reverend Dennis Sixkiller officiating. Cremation services have been entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home.
