Willard Wayne Boggs

January 4, 1930 ~ June 15, 2018

Willard Wayne Boggs spent his last days in Stillwater, Oklahoma, before his death on June 15, 2018. 

Willard was born on a farm near Hopeton, Oklahoma, on January 4, 1930, delivered by Dr. Ensor who called him Jupitor at that time. Then a nickname of Jup was used by family and friends the rest of his life.

He started his education at OK School, a one room school located on the farm of his grandfather where he enjoyed playing in the rhythm band and teasing girls. He graduated from Dacoma High School in 1948.

Shortly after Willard enlisted in the United States Air Force along with his friend J.T. Terrell. Tsgt Boggs served his country overseas and abroad for 20 years before retiring. Willard retired to the Alva area and started the Boggs Painting Company, painting not only in Alva but surrounding areas. In his extra time he was busy with his woodworking ability which included cabinets and outdoor furniture. 

Family members proceeding him in death were his parents Raleigh and Vivian Boggs, his sons Mark Boggs age 20 and Kim Boggs age 3 years, wife Stella Boggs, wife Wuanita Boggs. 

Willard is survived by daughter Renee Cook of Stillwater and grandson Jeremy VanTuye and wife Lori of Ponca City, grandson David VanTuye of Ponca City, a darling great granddaughter Charley VanTuye of Ponca City, sister Carlene Slater of Stillwater, niece Deborah Slater of Oklahoma City and Donna Slater of Stillwater and nephew Lee Slater of Tulsa.
