Joyce was raised in the Chouteau and Pryor area, graduating from Chouteau High School with the Class of 1969. She went on to attend Draughon School of Business. A devoted mother to her two sons, Rod and Randy, Joyce worked tirelessly to provide for her family, often holding multiple jobs at once.
Throughout her life, Joyce held several roles in customer service and management. She worked at the family-owned Dairy Queen before managing Sonic and serving customers at Western Auto, all in Pryor. Later, she spent several years in hotel management in the Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and Tulsa areas. Eventually, she retired from the workforce to do what she loved most—caring for and babysitting her grandchildren.
Joyce loved playing Bingo, often traveling to enjoy the game in different locations. She also loved dancing and took great joy in listening to her son Rod perform music. A woman of faith, Joyce believed in Christ and was a very loving person. She was a talented cook who passed down cherished family recipes to her children and grandchildren. Family was truly important to Joyce as she loved her two sons, her brother Ricky, and her three grandchildren with all of her heart. She delighted in spending time with them, showering them with love. She will be missed and remembered by all that knew and loved her.
