Edna Mae Besk, 77, of Amarillo died Tuesday, March 26, 2002.
Private family services will be at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle.
Mrs. Besk was born June 4, 1924, in Fargo, Okla., to Alonzo Earl and Mattie Mae Cade. She attended grade schools in Fargo and Canadian. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1941.
In 1940, she represented the state of Texas for Rainbow Girls at the Supreme Assembly in Cleveland.
During World War II, she worked at North America Aviation in Inglewood, Calif. In partnership with her brother, Bob, they operated a restaurant in Barstow, Calif.
In 1961 she returned to Amarillo, where she worked five years for Mildred Booker and then became deputy clerk at the city of Amarillo Municipal Court, where she retired in 1986.
She was a member of Top O' Texas ABWA where she was past president and Woman of the Year.
Survivors include a brother, Jerry Cade and wife, Rose, of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Ruth Price of Garland; five nephews; two nieces; four great-nephews; five great-nieces; two great-great-nephews; and three great-great-nieces.
