Wichita, Kansas – Ben E. Bergman, 77, of Wichita, retired linotype operator for Wichita Eagle – Beacon, died Friday, November 7 at St. Joseph Medical Ctr., Wichita.

He was born April 11, 1909 in Pond Creek to Adolph A. Bergman and Anna Diegelman Bergman.

Ben married Helen L. Marquis on February 25, 1941 in Kingfisher. He moved to Wichita in 1935 from Beaver.

Services were held Tuesday, November 11 at Culbertson – Smith Mortuary. Additional services were held Tuesday at 3 PM at Waconda Funeral Home, Cauker City, Kansas.

Interment was in Glenwood Cemetery in Glen Elder, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, L., Wichita; a son, Charles, of Craig, Colorado; brothers, Earl, Arkansas City, Kansas, John, Medford; a sister, Mae Nighswonger, Pratt, Kansas; eight grandchildren and four great – grandchildren.

Memorials have been set up with the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.
