Carolyn (Branstine) Benton
January 4, 1949 ~ March 6, 2016

The service celebrating the life of Carolyn (Branstine) Benton, 67, of Enid will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 10:00 AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Burleson officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. A family visitation and viewing will be held Thursday March 10, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Carolyn was born on January 4, 1949 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Forrest and Dortha (Winter) Branstine and moved to Campo, Colorado. She passed from this life on March 6, 2016. She was raised and graduated from Campo High School in 1967 and received her BS from Panhandle State University in Goodwill, Oklahoma.

She married Bill Benton on March 7. 1970 in Campo, Colorado and moved to Enid in 1990. She worked in the Alva School Special Education Program then subbed in Enid for five years. She worked for

Enid School System for five years, Emerson Junior High for a year, the YWCA for three years as Daycare Worker, and then for Garfield County Inter Local Coop for sixteen years. She retired as a Grant County Special Educator. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Enid.

Mrs. Benton�s family includes her husband, Bill; her sons, Kenny and Keith Benton; daughter-in-law Ruth; and three granddaughters; Ellen, Dorothy, and Caria Benton

Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Transplant Center with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of funds.
