Robert "Bobby" Bender, age 59 of Purcell, passed away Thursday January 5, 2017, at the Purcell Municipal Hospital.
Robert Christopher Bender was born January 31, 1957 in Bethesda, MD. He was the 4th child of six children born to Robert Sylvester Bender and Janice Carol Jennings. Robert was raised primarily in California.
After high school, Robert proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He lived both in the San Diego and Sacramento areas for many years before settling in Marysville, CA.
Robert married young, and to this union a son, Nathaniel and a daughter, Samantha were born.
Robert worked for many years as a cook in the various restaurants. He was a kind hearted man who loved people. He was genuinely interested and never missed an opportunity for a visit with family and friends. He loved music and played the guitar and was an Xbox master gamer. In 2008, he moved to Purcell to be closer to his sister, Sherry. While in Purcell, he was a member of the Landmark Church and remained active in church, and particularly with youth functions and activities. Robert will be greatly missed!
He was preceded in death by: His parents, Robert Bender Janice McGuirk Brother, Mark Steven Jennings.
Robert leaves behind: His children, Nathaniel Bender of Sacramento, CA and Samantha Bender of Pollock Pines, CA; Siblings, Sherry Warren and husband Dean of Purcell, OK, Gladys Marie Sapp of Venicia, CA, Jodi Davis and husband Tracy of Mustang, OK and Tanya Watson and husband Jeff of Center Harbor, NH, Half bothers, Tom Bender, Dick Bender and Terry Bender; Nephews, Gus Taliaferro, Jeff Taliaferro, Anthony Taliaferro and Jeremy and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
A Celebration of Robert's Life is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the Landmark Church in Purcell.
