Services for Kimila “Kim” Suzanne Behrens, 55, of Madill will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 24 at the First Baptist Church, Madill with Rick Lane officiating, assisted by Lynette Murphy. Music will be arranged by Wilda Norris and Karen Wellman.
Born February 11, 1962 at Fort Smith, Arkansas, the daughter of Leslie Wayne and Barbara Sue Sparks Bond, she died Monday, February 20, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas.
Kim was raised in Love’s Valley and graduated from Marietta High School in 1980. She married Ronald Lee Behrens on July 15, 1994 at Lake Murray Chapel. Kim moved to Madill in 1994, where she lived the rest of her life. She worked at the Marietta Pharmacy for several years before going to work for Madill Public Schools. Kim was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta and she enjoyed traveling, going to the beach and operating her boutique pet accessories business Mimi’s Pet Tags. Her greatest loves were cooking for others and spoiling her five grandchildren.
Kim collected “extra” kids like she collected seashells from the beaches she loved to visit. Anyone who walked through her door became a part of her family forever. She brightened the lives of everyone she met, and her light will continue to shine in those who were lucky enough to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jess and Noble Bond and Roy and Leota Sparks.
Survivors include her husband Ron of the home; children, J.J. Gray and wife Brandi of Oklahoma City and Kyla Selvy and husband Chad and Veronica Clement and husband Scott, all of Madill; grandchildren, Ali Selvy, Cole Selvy, Luke Clement, Leighton Clement and Kyler Clement; parents Wayne and Barbara Bond of Marietta; brother Tim Bond of Sanger, Texas; uncle Ron Bond and wife Georgia of Ardmore; aunt Marie Floyd of Marietta; and her dog Mitzi Marie.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Combs, Jon Tuck, Greg Hambrick, Wes Wlodarczyk, Jed Lane and Micah Lane. Honorary bearers are Tanner Behrens, Michael Barnes, David Wallace, Rick Brannan, J.H. Hayes and Richard Quisenberry.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, American Breast Cancer Foundation or the Madill Animal Shelter.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 23 at Watts Funeral Home in Madill from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a family hour from 6 until 8 p.m.
