Lloyd Martin Beasley

Lloyd Martin Beasley
Jun 16, 1908 ~ Sep 13, 2014

Lloyd Martin Beasley, 106, longtime resident of Sedan, KS, died Saturday in Sedan.

Lloyd was born the son of Joseph and Ella Ida Beasley on June 16, 1908, in Vincennes, Indiana. As a child Lloyd moved with his family to various states including Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas before settling in Ringling, OK. Lloyd was united in marriage with Eunice Juanita Taylor on March 11, 1935, in Ringling. Lloyd worked on ranches, farms and in the Texas oil fields before settling the family in Sedan in the early 1950s. Lloyd owned and operated his own sanitation business for many years. In 2008, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Eunice. They were married 73 years.

Lloyd loved to coon hunt and loved his hunting dogs dearly. He raised and trained coon dogs for many years that he would trade and sell. Later in life he took up fishing, a pastime he shared with his wife. He and Eunice would often travel long and short distances just to visit with dear friends and family.

Lloyd is survived by his four children, Wanda Mae Sherrod and Billy of Moline, KS; Kenneth Wayne Beasley of Longton, KS; Jimmie “Jim” Beasley and Betty of Sedan; and Judy N. McCasland and John of Midland, TX. Other survivors too numerous to list include five generations of offspring: his grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, KS. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Lloyd’s family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com
