Navada Pearl (Harrington) Beard
April 1, 1941 ~ October 19, 2025

Navada Pearl Harrington Beard, 84, of Wetumka, Okla., passed away on October 19, 2025, at Wellington Parke Retirement Home in OKC. Born in Canadian, Okla., April 1, 1941, to Hugh and Pearl Harrington, she attended Fairview School in Hughes County.

She was baptized into Christ when she was 12 years old while living in Wetumka.

She graduated from Drumright High School in 1959 where she met and married Eddie Beard. After Eddie graduated from Sunset School of Preaching they worked side by side in ministry for 55 years from Texas to Colorado and finally southwest Oklahoma.

Navada worked as a payroll clerk in Beckham Co. for eight years and five years as a church secretary in Mangum. She also owned and ran her own business in Mangum named "Nana's Nook" in which she sold items on consignment.

She was an expert on Laura Ingalls Wilder and Little House on the Prairie. She would dress up like Ma Ingalls and make presentations for school children. She taught children's Bible classes for many years.

Navada was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Pearl, brother Bill, sisters Ima, Dortha and Mary and an infant brother, Jerry Vance.

She is survived by her husband Eddie and her children Dale and Denise Beard of Tecumseh, Okla., and J.D. Beard of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren (to whom she was known as "Nana") include Gabby and Hunter Garst of Nashville, Graham and his fiancé Olivia Defazio of Orlando, Fla., Adam Beard of Oklahoma City, Austin and Alex Beard of Tecumseh, and Chad Beard of Tecumseh; great-grandchildren Emma, Gus, Maggie and Jack Beard and many nieces, nephews and great-grandpets.

Navada will be remembered for her kindness, strength, generosity and love of family. Her smile, wisdom and wit were gifts to all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, October 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Central Church of Christ in Shawnee, Okla., and another service will be held on Saturday, November 1 at 1:30 p.m. at Duke Church of Christ in Duke, Okla.
