Bill Harold Barry

Bill Harold Barry
January 27, 1928 ~ November 14, 2025

Bill Harold Barry (97) passed away peacefully on Friday 11/14/2025 at his home in Dewey, Oklahoma.

He was born on 1/27/1928 in Midwest, Wyoming, the youngest of 4 boys, to Reba (Harp) Barry and Clifford Eber Barry. He spent his early life at the family ranch on Antelope Creek, in Converse County, Wyoming. The family later moved their ranching operation to Prowers County, Colorado, where Bill completed his primary education, graduating from Lamar High School in 1946.

He served in the Army following the end of World War II, being stationed in occupied Japan, then went on to study engineering on the Gl bill at the University of Wyoming.

Bill married Yvonne Prowers in Lamar on 10/17/1953. The couple spent time in New Mexico, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Texas, settling in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1956, where he became a realtor and homebuilder. He and his wife moved to Dewey in 1971 when they purchased the Ranch Motel. Bill lived an interesting life and was always quick to share the many entertaining stories of his experiences; there will never be another like him, and he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by Yvonne, his wife of 66 years; his parents; stepmother Alta Barry; and the brothers he adored, Stuart, Jack and Ted Barry.

He is survived by daughter Bridget Barry, of Bartlesville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation to be handled by Stumpff Funeral Home, with internment together with his wife in Wiley, Colorado at a later date.

Friends who wish may sign the online guestbook at www.stumpff.org. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
