It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jacqueline Elaine Barrows. She was 70 years old. Jacqueline passed away quietly and peacefully Wednesday, May 28th, 2025, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Jacqueline was born November 16th, 1954, in Nevada, Missouri, where she grew up, later moving to Baxter Springs, Kansas, and then Blackwell, Oklahoma. She was a dedicated mother, wife, sister and friend to many. She married twice, first to Roland Harley Allen and then to David Daniel Barrows. Both preceded her in death. Her mother was Hazel Irene Miller, and her father was Henry Kenneth Smith, both of Nevada, Missouri. Her mother passed away April 5th, 1996, and is buried in Fort Scott Cemetery. Her father passed away August 13th, 1978.
Jacqueline had ten brothers and sisters: five brothers—Henry Abner, Robert Joseph, William Kenneth, Forest Daniel, and Jeffrey Lynn—and five sisters—Patricia Ann, Della Faye, Marilynn Sue, Peggy Lee, and Debra Irene. All preceded her in death. Jacqueline had six children and numerous stepchildren and grandkids. Two sons: Roland Harley Allen Jr. and Walter Scott Allen—both preceded her in death. Her four daughters are Holli Rolinda Brown, Jillian Elaine Rogers, Kathryn Irene Simons, and Jessica Faye Stout. She also had ten grandkids and one great grandkid.
Jacqueline was a faithful believer in the Lord. She turned many of her friends and family to Christ throughout her life. Her Bible was always in her presence. She loved gospel music and turned to it for comfort. She was devoted to supporting her family and friends through life’s troubles by listening and guiding them with the word of Jesus. Nothing made her happier than helping others find Christ. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Roberts & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Cliff Johnson of the Blackwell Tabernacle officiating.
