Larry D. Banks, 78, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, surrounded by those he loved most. Larry was a proud Okie, born on March 13, 1948, and raised in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was a hard worker and a successful owner and operator of many oil and gas leases.
Larry married the love of his life, Janice Banks, on a beautiful day in September 1979. Together, they shared nearly 50 wonderful years, creating countless cherished memories.
Known as “Pop Pop” or “Paw Paw” to his beloved grandchildren, Larry instilled important life lessons, including the practical skill of how to change a tire. Larry loved spending time at Bluestem Lake with family and friends, watching the orange Osage sunsets along the banks of Sand Creek, shooting guns with his four granddaughters, and exchanging the best stories out in the shop.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Anna May Banks.
Larry leaves behind his loyal wife, Janice Banks. Children, Gary Mason, Tim Mason (Margaret Mason), and Suzanne Brurud; grandchildren Paul Gomez (Kinzi Gomez), Jenna Rulo (Skyler Rulo), Sydney Banks (fiancé Kenny Higgins), Bailey Ingham (John Ingham), and Mallory Brurud; great-grandchildren Kyla Gomez and Cruz Gomez; and great-great-grandson Ryder.
