Dolores Jean "Dee" (Deskines) Baker
September 25, 1929 ~ July 31, 2018

Dolores "Dee" Jean Baker, formerly of Towanda, Kansas, died Tuesday morning, July 31, 2018, in the Via Christi Village in Ponca City at the age of 88 years. 

Dolores "Dee" Jean Baker was born on September 25, 1929, in Matfield Green, Kansas, to Hardin J. and Ella L. Deskines. She graduated from Matfield Green High School in 1948. She married her high school sweetheart, Glenn W. Baker, Jr. on December 24, 1948, in Emporia, Kansas. During her adult life she worked for ten years as office manager for Barton's Distributor in Wichita, Kansas. She later worked as a computer operator for five years at the Towanda State Bank in Towanda, Kansas. She was a member of the Ladies Elks Lodge #2408 in Bullhead City, Arizona, for over twenty-five years. She enjoyed cake decorating, cooking, crafting, square dancing, fishing, camping and spending the winters in Arizona. 

She is survived by her husband, Glenn W. Baker, Jr.; a daughter, Kay Ericksen and husband Michael of Beavercreek, Ohio; a son, Neil Baker and wife Jan of Blackwell; two sisters, Patricia Maier and husband Joseph of Hermiston, Oregon, and Donella Ward of Branson, Missouri; a brother, Joseph Deskines and wife Jean of Herrin, Illinois; four grandchildren, Kevin Baker of Blackwell, Kellee Brown and husband Nick of Jenks, Brian Davis and wife Laura of Mount Airy, Maryland, and Kendra Faul and husband Jeff of Brookshire, Texas; and six great grandchildren, Austin, Paxton and Sutton Brown, Madison and Noah Davis, and Cora Faul. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gregory Alan and Kent Arlo Baker; and a brother, Lloyd "Laddie" Deskines. 

The family has scheduled a visitation celebration for Monday, August 13th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home for family and friends. 

A memorial has been established in her honor with the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia 22311.
