Lola Mae (Cunningham) Aynes

August 12, 1923 ~ November 20, 2005

Lola Mae Aynes, daughter of Jim and Lender (Whitlock) Cunningham, was born on August 12, 1923, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed away on November 20, 2005, in Springfield, Missouri at the age of eighty-two.

On February 13, 1946, she was united in marriage with Clyde Aynes and to this union four children were born, all surviving.

At the age of thirteen years, Lola Mae was led to the Lord by Dr. W. A. Criswell. She served her Lord faithfully for many years in the mission fields in Beirut, Lebanon and in Seminole Baptist Temple.

Lola Mae's family was very important to her. She loved spending time with them, cooking, laughing and making family get-togethers fun. She was a very meek and gentle woman who was willing to help others even before taking care of her own needs.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Clyde, of the home; one son, Paul Ayres and his wife Brenda, of Greenville, North Carolina; three daughters, Judy Aynes, of Springfield, Phyllis Simms and her husband, Mike of Springfield and Cindy Edwards and her husband Zane, of New Zealand; two sisters, Maydell Cook and Geraldine Cunningham, both of Chickasha, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Ruth, Sally, Dorothy, Molly and Betty; and one grandson, Christopher Edwards. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 25, 2005, at Seminole Baptist Temple, with interment following in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m., until service time on Friday, at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Funds at Seminole Baptist Temple, 4221 South National Avenue, Springfield, Missouri 65810 or may be made through the funeral home.
